A Gem Nonetheless

It’s always great fun to buy an amaryllis variety that you know is no longer in production, but offered for sale nonetheless. This year, an early surprise on the Emaryllis windowsill, ‘Quito’ makes its way to us (and to the U.S.) by way of McClure & Zimmerman’s offering of ‘Ruby Meyer‘. Having pined for this 2005 registered selection for years, it is with a hearty drumroll that we welcome ‘Quito’ to the photo library.
